Wrexham boss Sam Ricketts has emerged as a shock contender for the managerial vacancy at Shrewsbury Town.
The Shrews have fared poorly in League One this term, with former Macclesfield Town boss John Askey sacked this week after winning just four of his 17 league games at the helm.
And the struggling Shrews could now turn to Ricketts, 37, who has impressed since arriving at the Racecourse and guided the Reds to top spot in the National League.
Bookmakers have now installed Ricketts, who previously played for Town's arch-rivals Telford United, as the 11/8 favourite to succeed Askey.
Former Blackpool manager Gary Bowyer and ex-Shrews boss Paul Hurst are both available at 2/1.
