A DEESIDE woman sent a picture to her ex-partner of her bloodied arm after a self-harming incident, a court heard.

Louise Powell sent an email with a worrying photograph to Ashlea Jones, her partner until February.

Prosecutor Justin Espie told North East Wales Magistrates Court that police found Powell in Liverpool Road in Ewloe Green near to the home of Jones’ stepmother, Emma Nield, with a small cut to her finger.

The next day they were called again when Ms Jones claimed she was being harassed by Powell.

Mr Espie said: “Ms Jones received an email showing the defendant’s arm covered in blood.

“She also sent a message saying that she was going to blow Mrs Nield’s house up. She claimed everything was all Jones’ fault.”

The Mold court heard Powell would not let matters lie and she bombarded Mrs Nield with numerous messages via Facebook Messenger.

Powell, 28, of High Street, Connah’s Quay, admitted sending communication of an offensive nature to Ashlea Jones and Emma Nield on September 10.

She also pleaded guilty to harassing Emma Nield on the same date.

Probation officer Andrew Connah said: “There had been an element of provocation as Ms Jones had been contacting, but she takes full responsibility for harassing her stepmother.

"She deeply regrets her actions but she was at an extremely low ebb.”

Nick Cross, defending, said: “She is very vulnerable person herself and she obviously felt alone. She says Ashlea Jones is still contacting her regularly.”

Magistrates told Powell to complete 20 days of rehabilitation activities as part of a 12-month community sentence. They fined her £80 and told her to pay costs of £85 and victim surcharge of £85.

She was also placed under a restraining order not to approach her victim for two years.
