POLICE and councillors are getting increasingly fed up with nuisance behaviour in towns and villages around Wrexham.

On Monday evening, North Wales Police posted a comment online, asking parents where their children were, following a spate of anti-social behaviour.

In the post online, NWP said: "Parents of teenagers in Tanyfron, Brynteg, Brymbo, Gwersyllt and surrounding areas, do you know where your children are this evening?

"We have a very large group causing a nuisance and even damage in the area of Tanyfron. This is becoming a regular occurrence and unfortunately we are going to have start taking more drastic action and this may result in your child getting a criminal record. The behaviour is unacceptable."

The Brymbo Sports Complex in particular has been a hotspot for anti-social behaviour, with the main gates being sabotaged preventing people from entering, benches being destroyed and a wooden dragon sculpture being damaged as well as guests being intimidated.

Councillor for Brymbo, Paul Rogers, said: "Anti-social behaviour has been increasing at the club and at other locations in the area.

"Concerns have been raised regarding the behaviour and it's getting to the point of deliberate vandalism and it's affecting the day to day running of the complex.

"Large groups are congregating at the centre so we put it to police that something should be done. It's a concern obviously."

Since the post

The Brymbo Sports Complex management did not want to comment at this time, but did confirm that gangs of up to 30 individuals had been gathering at the complex, sometimes even climbing onto the newly refurbished complex roof to play football.
