A COMMUNITY project bringing people together through gardening celebrated the end of the growing season with a Halloween-themed party.

Digging Deeside encourage vulnerable or socially isolated people get together to do gentle gardening on the community plot on Mill Lane in Connah's Quay.

The aim of Digging Deeside is to bring people in the Connah’s Quay area together to meet new people, share common interests and increase their social networks.

And to celebrate another successful summer of bringing people together, they held a seasonally Halloween party at the plot on Tuesday as the rowing season comes to an end.

The party was attended by 20 regular volunteers, many of whom are autistic or have mental health problems. They were also joined by staff from the nearby Job Centre and local residents to the area.

Digging Deeside, run by social enterprise RainbowBiz, has recently received over £33,000 from People’s Health Trust, with money raised by HealthDiverse, through The Health Lottery.
