PARKED cars reducing people's visibility at a junction in Leeswood is 'an accident waiting to happen', its residents have said.

The cars, parked on the side of the road on Oak Park, are restricting people's view of oncoming traffic as they leave the junction at Oak Drive who are joining Oak Park.

Leeswood residents are very concerned that the potential hazard could lead to a serious accident.

Karl Roberts said: ''I see it as a potential accident waiting to happen, it's very difficult to see cars coming from the right when coming out of the junction of the estate, it’s also where the kids catch the bus in the morning.''

Ian Parry shares similar sentiments.

He added: ''It's such a pain, not to mention the 4x4 pick up which often parks on the left, it's a definite accident waiting to happen.''

Children often cross that stretch of the road as the school bus stops close to the Prince of Wales pub, opposite to the Oak Drive junction.

Steve Jones, chief officer Streetscene and Transportation said: "In the absence of traffic orders, enforcement of inconsiderate parking of this nature can only be undertaken by North Wales Police, if the parking is considered to be causing an obstruction.

''The council will review the traffic orders on the junction to assess if the introduction of formal parking restrictions would improve the safety of the junction."
