MORE than 100 children have taken part in gymnastics taster session throughout the summer holidays.
Deeside Gymnastics Academy, based at Deeside Leisure Centre, has hosted gymnastic summer camps three times a week since the start of the summer holidays.
Aimed at participants aged 5 and over, the sessions give a basic 'taster' of gymnastics in a fun atmosphere.
Coach Clare Rudd told the Leader: "We have had so much activity on over the summer - our squad has been training so the gym has been open every day.
"We have had about 150 children taking part in the summer camp activities and they have had great fun.
"Some had never done it before and this gives them the real fundamental skills."
The summer camp activities finish next week and Deeside Gymnastics Academy will resume its normal timetable from September 3.
