Teenagers who have been juggling school work with representing their country have passed all their GCSE's.

Identical twins, Catrin and Beca Hughes, play netball for Wales and have both been placed in the under 21 squad at the age of 16.

Headteacher, Mrs Bronwen Hughes, who is also the girl's mum, said: "They have both passed every GCSE with A's B's and C's.

"They got an A in PE which is what they really wanted because they play netball for Wales and at 16 that's quite an achievement.

"They have managed to juggle the training and studying, travelling up and down to Cardiff every third weekend whilst trying to study to pass their exams so they are really pleased.

"They are going to go on to study definitely A-Level PE and we will see where we go from there really."

Both girls have been part of the Wales under 17 squad for two years, gaining international caps and no look forward to playing for the under 21 Welsh netball squad.

Beca received her results from Ysgol Maes Garmon yesterday with 1A, 5B's and 2C's and her sister Catrin celebrated with 1A, 4B's and 7C's.
