A man is in a “serious but not life-threatening” condition after being struck by a train.
British Transport Police confirmed they are not treating the incident at the railway line near Maude Street, Connah’s Quay on Wednesday as suspicious.
The Welsh Ambulance Service Trust confirmed that the man believed to have been struck on the line near Shotton was transferred to University Hospital Aintree, Liverpool.
Emergency services, including the Wales Air Ambulance, were called to Cestrian Street, Connah’s Quay, at around 4.45pm on Wednesday.
A Welsh Ambulance Service Trust spokesman said: “We were called at approximately 5pm on Wednesday to reports of an incident involving a pedestrian and a train on Cestrian Street, Connah’s Quay.
“We sent one emergency ambulance and a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and our crews were supported by Wales Air Ambulance.
“The patient was taken by road to University Hospital Aintree, Liverpool.”
