TNS bid to keep the pressure on league leaders Llanelli, with victory at Rhyl tonight (Friday, 7.30pm).

A solitary strike from Craig Jones saw the Saints complete a 1-0 win over Llanelli in last weekend’s top of the table encounter at Park Hall.

However club spokesman Gordon Evans insists the border club have no time to dwell on the victory ahead of a crunch journey to a Rhyl side still chasing European qualification.

“We beat them well at Park Hall earlier in the season and we know full well what Rhyl are about,” affirmed Evans. “They will want to beat us as they always do and will certainly not want to do us any favours in the race for the title.”

Evans played down the importance of last weekend’s victory and insists the Reds are still title favourites.

“It is still Llanelli’s to lose,” said Evans. “We cannot afford a single slip up, while Llanelli still have the games in hand.

“We must ensure we keep on picking up victories, so we can punish them if they do slip up.

“In the meantime we will take each game as it comes and prepare as professionally as we always do.”

Striker Aeron Edwards is a major doubt as the ex-Caersws starlet struggles to overcome a twisted ankle.
