Residents at a supported living scheme for former homeless young people in Wrexham were given tips on making the most of online information.

Louise Blackwell, community development officer with Clwyd Alyn Housing Association was joined by Julie Ferns, community involvement officer with Keepmoat, to host a support session at the Hurst Newton Scheme on Bersham Road in Wrexham.

“Hurst Newton is managed by Clwyd Alyn in partnership with Wrexham Council and as well as providing safe accommodation for former homeless young people, it also provides a range of individual support for the residents to help them gain self-confidence and build up skills enabling them to successfully move on to live independently,” said Louise.

“The digital inclusion sessions are a great way of tailoring support to meet individual needs, and it also gave the young people chance to register on Clwyd Alyn’s own Residents’ Portal where they can access information about their tenancy.

“The residents were brilliant, and we’d also like to thank Julie Ferns from Keepmoat who bought along popcorn to keep us going, as well as thank project senior officer Adrian Harvey and project worker Abbie Watkins for helping to arrange the sessions and provide cakes and refreshments,” Louise added.
