CROWDS turned out for the traditional Flint and Denbigh hunt meet on Monday even though it could not go ahead because of the weather.
Members of the hunt and the public still met in Denbigh town centre.
Jeremy Reid, master huntsman for Flint and Denbigh, said: “The weather was horrendous and wasn’t safe for the horses with so much snow on the ground.
“We still met though as the farmers and members of public love to see us out in Denbigh. It was a way of saying thank you to the farmers for letting us ride across their land.
“Everyone had a lovely time.”
The event also featured the traditional Roll the Barrel event, which is as much a part of Christmas in Denbigh as mince pies, Santa Claus and turkey.
Hundreds of spectators gathered to watch the festivities, which also included a parade of vintage tractors.
Elsewhere the Wynnstay Hunt was also cancelled because of the frozen ground.
But members of the Wynnstay Hunt still turned out by the cross in Malpas in full hunting dress.
