BROTHERLY love and the memory of a lost team-mate saw a group of men beat some of the highest peaks in Britain.
Shaun Millington, 26, brothers Danny Jones, 26 and Aaron Jones, 24, Richard Hughes, 24, and brothers Chris Price, 27 and Mike Price, 24, all from Buckley set off for Scotland last Friday to take part in the Three Peaks Challenge.
En route the group stopped to remember their friend, talented rugby player Paul Hopkins, who suffered a seizure after he collapsed in Brannigan’s nightclub, Chester in March last year. The 23 year-old from Mancot was rushed to the Countess of Chester hospital where he later died.
Shaun said: “Mold Rugby Club carried out a tournament last month to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, and the Three Peaks Challenge was just to raise extra money for the same cause.
“We have done many walks before, and climbed all three of these mountains, but never all of them together and within 24 hours, so it was a challenge.
“We completed the challenge in 23 hours. However we did hit some traffic along the way which delayed our progress from Ben Nevis to Scafell Pike."
