EIDDWYN Hall, headteacher of The Maelor School at Penley, said he was delighted with the "excellent" A-level results achieved by this year’s sixth form.
“The students and teachers are to be congratulated on an outstanding set of examination results that have set a new school UCAS average points record of 361 - the equivalent of 3 A grades," he added.
"A number of our students also achieved at least one of the prestigious A* grades, new this year.
"Among the results were some excellent individual achievements and we are particularly delighted that all of our Year 13 students who were entered for three or more subjects gained at least three passes, with 88 per cent of these achieving four or more passes.
"Our commendation also goes to one of our Year 8 pupils who, at the age of 13, sat his mathematics A-level this summer and gained an A grade.
"Our students thoroughly deserve these results, having worked hard over the past two years and we wish them all well with their future studies and careers.”
