FRIENDS of a tragic Rhostyllen mum have been raising money for charity in her memory.
Claire Saunders, mother of teenager Jack Saunders who was swept to his death from Blackpool promenade last October, lost her own battle against cancer in July but fundraising in her name for various good causes is continuing.
More than £1,500 was handed over to armed forces charity Welsh Warriors after a successful concert at Brymbo Sports and Social Club on the same day as her well-attended funeral earlier this month.
And at a recent fun day at the Pant-yr-Ochain in Gresford Claire’s friend Debra Griffiths and her daughter Natasha Kelly did a face-painting session for children, which raised £60 for Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham.
They chose to support the hospice because it took such good care of Claire during the final stage of her illness.
