A HEROIN addict breached the terms of her suspended prison sentence when she failed to keep appointments with the probation service.

Rebecca Jane Baldini, 21, of Maes Hyfryd, Rhosrobin, admitted the charge when she appeared before Flintshire magistrates’ court.

She was given another chance after magistrates were told she had not committed any new offences.

She was also tackling her heroin problem and had been providing negative test results, said Fiona Larking, defending.

The breach happened when she failed to attend appointments with the probation service.

The court warned Baldini that she could have been sent straight back to prison.

However, the suspended sentence was toughened up and a two month 8pm-8am curfew was added.

Miss Larking said: “It is difficult to believe but the last time she went into custody, she came out with a heroin addiction.

“She is a completely different girl to the one that went in to custody. It is very sad.”

But through her own efforts she was getting herself off heroin and was producing negative test results.

“She knows that she has a long way to go,” said Miss Larking.

Baldini had attended many appointments but it was conceded others had been missed.

“It is not surprising for someone who has such a chaotic lifestyle,” said Miss Larking.

Things were looking up for her because she now had her own flat and had also passed her driving test so she could look for work.
