LLANRHAEADR 1
YSCEIFIOG 0
IT’S now just one-defeat-in-five for Llanrhaeadr, who left it late to see off Ysceifiog.
Danny Jones’ side have only won once on their travels this season, and they failed to double this tally as Aled Davies’ hosts bagged a fourth win of the campaign.
Ysceifiog boss Jones felt it was a tight game and he was glad to welcome last season’s top scorer Simon Holloway back into the fold.
This was Holloway’s first match back for Ysceifiog after an ankle operation.
It was a case of building from the back as far as Llanrhaeadr were concerned and Bryn Evans said: “We were back to basics... and I think we deserved it.”
The first half was a close affair, with Llan goalkeeper Luc VanderBijl forced into one decent stop.
At the other end of the park Ian Evans and Rhys Llwyd had opportunities to score for the hosts.
It remained goalless until the 80th minute when Ian Evans’ strike was diverted in at the far post by Llion Edwards.
Matthew Mellor and Alun Williams again gave colossal Llanrhaeadr displays.
