Wrexham's play-off challenge took a huge dent as they suffered a 2-1 defeat against second bottom Dartford at The Racecourse.

Unbeaten in four games before kick-off, Wrexham went into the clash full of expectation but were unable to continue their recent good run.

Dartford took the lead in the 10th minute, Alex Wall’s free-kick was parried by goalkeeper Andy Coughlin and Andy Pugh converted.

But Wrexham were back on level terms 11 minutes later, Mark Carrington's corner hung in the air and Joe Clarke eventually fired home.

However, Dartford reclaimed the lead just before the interval as Pugh was thwarted by Coughlin but Elliott Bradbrook was on hand to score.

Wrexham dominated the second half but were unable to make the break through and their run of seven games in 22 days began on a losing note.
