The team at a North Wales animal rescue centre is looking for new homes for their furry residents.

North Clwyd Animal Rescue (NCAR) have cats, dogs and some smaller animals, all hoping to find their forever home.

The staff and volunteers at the Trelogan-based charity, in Flintshire, know the animals as individuals, and therefore know what kind of home they are more likely to thrive in.

Whether it's a dog, cat, rabbit or guinea pig, staff are on hand to advise on the character and suitability of each.

They also make sure potential new owners are aware of the ongoing costs of a pet, including food and vet bills, which can often be for unexpected treatment.

But thankfully there are plenty of responsible, loving people and families looking to give an animal a loving new home.

And there are always animals of all types, ages and needs that will be the perfect match.

Here we meet just some of those at NCAR looking for a new home...

• For more details, please visit ncar.org.uk or if you would like to support the charity without adopting, you can visit their cafe, open from 10.30am to 3.30pm. They also accept donations at the centre between 10am and 4pm.

You can also help by fundraising, sponsoring a kennel or supporting one of the NCAR charity shops in the region.

NCAR - Narco.

NCAR - Narco.

Narco is a one-year-old sweet boy who was signed over due to his owners not having the experience to deal with his breed - Anatolian Shepherd Cross retriever. He is typical of the breed and very wary of strangers, he will try and run away but he is very big and strong, so anyone wanting to take him on would have to be dedicated to working on this with him. Once he knows you, he is the sweetest boy, and he likes other dogs and plays nicely. He would suit a small holding type environment, but where he would still be getting out and about to meet new people and work on his fear in a positive and structured way. He has lived with a cat and loved him, so he could also be homed with cats.

NCAR - Brooke.

NCAR - Brooke.

Brooke is approximately one-year-old and was brought into the centre after being a stray and giving birth in a garden. She is a friendly girl but can be a bit timid initially. She loves her food and likes to be stroked. She is looking for a fairly quiet home as she can be skittish at times but will make a lovely companion once settled. She would like to be the only pet in the house and have a garden to explore once she has settled in.

NCAR - Indie.

NCAR - Indie.

Indie is a sweet four-year-old girl who was brought into the rescue as she was not getting along with one of the other dogs in the household. She is a shy girl who takes a little bit of time getting to know you. Once she does know you, she is friendly and loves to play. She is a bit of an escape artist so she will need a very secure garden with high fencing, and can not be rehomed near any busy main roads. She is fully housetrained. She has lived with young children but due to her being shy, her previous owners they would advise a home with children older than 14. She is small for her breed - more of a collie size than the typical German Shepherd.

NCAR - Floyd.

NCAR - Floyd.

Floyd is a handsome tabby aged five years. Floyd has come to the rescue following his owner sadly passing away. He is a lovely friendly lad who sometimes hides under covers but will appear for strokes. The centre is looking for a home with children over the age of 12 years. He would like to be the only pet in the house so he can have all the attention for himself. He would like to have someone who works part-time or maybe who works from home so he has some company around. He would like a garden to explore but this must be in a quiet area away from busy roads.

NCAR - Bella-Eve.

NCAR - Bella-Eve.

Bella-Eve is a beautiful and well behaved lurcher who was recently returned to the rescue due to her owner’s deteriorating health. At 14, she does not require that much exercise now, and is happy with a 10-15 minute walk and then curling up on the sofa. Although we will not be looking for a home with children, visiting children would be absolutely fine. She is calm around other dogs but she does have a prey drive, and would suit a home without other animals. She is in generally good health for her age, but she is a little wobbly on her back legs. She is fully housetrained and her previous owners did not have a bad word to say about her! She really does not deserve to be spending her twilight in a kennel. Her new owners will definitely not regret taking her on.

NCAR - Tilly.

NCAR - Tilly.

Tilly is a nine-year-old long haired Maine coon cross that came to the rescue with her brother following the death of her owner. She likes to be stroked but her main occupation is sleeping. Although she has lived on a small holding before Tilly likes a quiet life, so a home with a garden in a safe area roadwise is ideal, as she is not used to traffic. Tilly is looking for an adult only home where she is the only pet in the house.
