The team at a North Wales animal rescue centre is looking for new homes for their furry residents.

North Clwyd Animal Rescue (NCAR) have cats, dogs and some smaller animals, all hoping to find their forever home.

The staff and volunteers at the Trelogan-based charity, know the animals as individuals, and therefore know what kind of home they are more likely to thrive in.

Whether it's a dog, cat, rabbit or guinea pig, staff are on hand to advise on the character and suitability of each.

They also make sure potential new owners are aware of the ongoing costs of a pet, including food and vet bills, which can often be for unexpected treatment.

But thankfully there are plenty of responsible, loving people and families looking to give an animal a loving new home.

And there are always animals of all types, ages and needs that will be the perfect match.

Here we meet just some of those at NCAR looking for a new home...

• For more details, please visit ncar.org.uk or if you would like to support the charity without adopting, you can visit their cafe, open from 10.30am to 3.30pm. They also accept donations at the centre between 10am and 4pm.

You can also help by fundraising, sponsoring a kennel or supporting one of the NCAR charity shops in the region.

Daggie and Joey

Daggie and Joey

• Daggie and Joey are a gorgeous pair who came to the rescue as their owner sadly passed away. They are a friendly duo - Daggie is approximately 10 years old and Joey is eight. They are a medium energy pair who like a good walk and then to chill out. Joey will need more exercise than Daggie and so regular separate longer walks for Joey would be ideal. They love to have a play together and both get on well with other dogs, so there is a possibility they could be rehomed with other dogs. We would be looking for a calmer home with older children who would give them their space. They are house trained and are clean in their kennel. A beautiful pair who have been through a lot and need a home to retire in!

Irn Bru

Irn Bru

• Irn Bru is approximately one-year-old and came into our care from a vets after he was hit by a car. He suffered some injuries including a fractured pelvis and has had his tail amputated. He has been on cage rest and has now healed and is able to explore the cattery, and build his muscles back up. Irn Bru is a lively playful lad who loves to be stroked. He would like to be the only pet in the house and we are looking for a quiet area roadwise. He could go with children over 10 years of age.

Phillip

Phillip

Phillip is about three-years-old boy, and came to the rescue as a stray. He is a crossbreed and was rehomed but returned for showing aggression towards visitors in the home. Phillip is an insecure boy who can be very wary of strangers. He needs a home where the advice of the behaviour team will be implemented, and he is only allowed controlled access to people he does not know. He would not be able to be rehomed where children visit. In general, Phil is an amazing boy who is a staff and volunteer favourite. He loves nothing more than bolting around the paddock and taking a dip in the pools. When he knows you, Phil is a sweet boy who enjoys cuddles and social interaction. Anyone interested in Phil will have to come up to the rescue on multiple occasions to get to know him.

Tahini

Tahini

• Tahini is a beautiful tortoiseshell cat that came to the rescue with her kittens, and is about 18-months-old. She turned up pregnant at a farm, where she had her kittens. All her kittens have been rehomed and now it is Tahini’s turn. She is a really friendly lass who loves to have a fuss. We are looking for a home in a quiet location as she is not used to traffic. She could be homed with sensible children over 12 years of age.

Jonah

Jonah

Jonah is a handsome hunterway cross who came to the rescue as a stray. He is a friendly boy but he can be quite aloof on first meetings. He prefers to just get out of the kennel and go for an explore than have any interaction. He will need someone who is going to give him enough stimulation and exercise to keep him happy. Due to having no history, we would be looking for a home with sensible teenagers. He is quite strong on the lead and can pull quite a lot at times, and we are unsure whether he is house trained. He seems to be good with other dogs from initial tests, but he can be little vocal at times. He is a lovely boy who will flourish in the right home.

Kiki

Kiki

• Kiki is two-and-a-half years of age and she came into our care as she was unwanted. She is a friendly girl who likes a fuss, and loves her meal times. She isn’t keen on other cats or dogs, so is looking to be the only pet in her next home. Kiki is looking for a home with older teenagers, and in an area away from busy roads.
