PHIL PARKINSON has not joined Wrexham's promotion-winning party in Las Vegas but will continue the celebrations on a break with his staff.

The Reds have clinched a top-three finish in League Two, securing back-to-back promotions for the first time in the club's history.

After winning the National League title following a record-breaking 2022-23 campaign, the Reds players celebrated on an all-expenses-paid lavish bash in Las Vegas, with Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney funding the trip.

Paul Mullin, who has scooped the Player of the Season award for a third year in a row, and his team-mates will today head back to Sin City with the multi-millionaire actors gifting a repeat visit to Nevada as a reward for Wrexham booking a place in League One.

"It felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity last year but they are off again!" said Parkinson. "It is a nice reward for promotion.

"Their job has been done and they are looking forward to three or four days in Vegas, and who can blame them."

Parkinson will instead head to Spain for a break with all his staff.

"I said last year, it is good to let the players have their own time," he said.

"The staff are going to go away for a few days together like we did last year and we are happy with that.

"We are very grateful to the owners for sticking to what they said to the lads and also looking after the staff as well."

The players have received the plaudits after securing promotion - Wrexham won the last five games of the season and finished runners-up - but Parkinson says all his staff deserve a lot of praise.

"A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes from the staff, Kevin Mulholland and his medical team, the coaching staff and the kit-man," added the Reds' boss.

"So much work that isn't really seen because it is work in the off-season by the medical team.

"The hours that the kit-man puts in are phenomenal, the work he puts in to keep everything professional which is what we are all about at the club.

"I am delighted that Rob and Ryan have agreed to treat the staff to a few days away."
