PARENTS from Wrexham took on a sponsored walk up Moel Famau to benefit the Children's Adventure Playground in Gwenfro Valley.

A team from Caia Park headed up Moel Famau on Friday, April 26 to raise vital funds for the local resource for children and families.

So far the parents have raised over £500 through sponsorship. See their JustGiving page here.

Gwenfro Valley has been open for over 15 years and is a staffed free to use, open access playground based in Queensway in Wrexham.

It provides a wide range of experiences for children and teenagers. The playground has swings, sand, a den building area, fire pit and offers much more for children to play, build, create and be themselves.

Gwenfro Valley boasts a vibrant community of parents committed to providing enriching experiences for their children.

The Leader:

Recognising the importance of outdoor play and community spaces, the parent steering group has rallied together to support the ongoing costs and maintenance of the adventure playground.

Gareth Venn (assistant manager) said: "We are so grateful to the parent steering group. They have worked hard to raise funds for the playground over many years now.

"It’s their support and recognition of how important Gwenfro Valley is for the community that has helped keep the playground running.
