WREXHAM are in the hat for Monday's FA Cup first round draw.

Dean Keates' side came from behind to draw 1-1 at Chesterfield in their fourth qualifying round tie.

The teams will now go head to head for the third time in eight days when they meet in a replay on Tuesday.

The starting line-up showed three changes from the side that lost against Chesterfield four days previously.

New signing James Horsfield replaced Jazzi Barnum-Bobb at right-back and skipper Shaun Pearson, who missed the midweek defeat through illness, returned to the centre of defence in place of Michael Chambers.

The other switch was in attack as Mark Harris was preferred to Jason Oswell, while fit-again duo Mark Carrington and JJ Hooper were included among the seven substitutes.

Chesterfield named an unchanged starting XI and all of their seven former Wrexham players were named in the squad.

Wrexham had a chance to take the lead after only 35 seconds when Harris burst through the middle and the ball ran to Luke Young but his weak effort was saved by Shwan Jalal.

Chesterfield came even closer as Joe Rowley was allowed to run unchallenged inside the area before bringing a superb save out of Rob Lainton.

Paul Rutherford headed Horsfield's cross straight at Jalal as Wrexham continued their good start but Chesterfield took the lead in the 10th minute.

Fondop raced onto Josef Yarney's through-ball which was misjudged by Pearson and the striker lifted the ball over Lainton and into the net.

The Spireites were getting into some good positions and Fondop was denied by Lainton following Tom Denton's flick-on.

Rutherford wasn't far away with a deflected shot which was just wide while Lainton gathered Denton's header at the other end.

Another good cross by Horsfield was met by Young but the ball deflected wide while Lainton had to get down low to turn Jay Sheridan's free-kick behind after it came off Bobby Grant in the Wrexham wall.

Denton directed another header inches wide but the big striker almost put through his own goal when he attempted to clear Young's free-kick.

Pearson made a brilliant block to keep out Rowley's shot from Gevaro Nepomuceno's cut back at the start of the second half and Fondop's effort was comfortably stopped by Lainton.

Keates made a triple change in the 59th minute as Akil Wright, Devonte Redmond and Hooper came on for Young, Luke Summerfield and Harris.

And just three minutes later Wrexham were back on level terms with Redmond making an immediate impact.

Horsfield played the ball to Redmond who crossed from the by-line and Grant headed home.

Buoyed by the goal, Wrexham went straight back at Chesterfield and Hooper's shot deflected wide.

Grant's drive was saved by Jalal following a good move but Chesterfield should have equalised four minutes from time.

Substitute Anthony Spyrou beat Lainton to the ball and had the goal at his mercy but Pearson's stunning block prevented the striker from finding an empty net.

Spyrou was also denied by Lainton in added time but it finished all square.
