WREXHAM supporters are underwhelmed by their team's start to the National League season.

The Reds have kicked off a 12th campaign in non-league with a mixed bag of results and Bryan Hughes' side suffered a second defeat in seven outings when they lost 4-2 at Hartlepool on Monday.

That leaves 13th placed Wrexham with nine points - and they are the same amount behind leaders Woking.

The Leader asked fans what they thought of Wrexham's start to the season and what can be done to improve it, and here are some of the answers.

MATT: "Poor. Starting carrington at rb and dropping Redmond position back. The 2 in midfield leaves us exposed."

CARL: "I think we have the players but i dont think Hughes is tactically astute enough. Our discipline is awful and the players lack motivation."

IAN WILLS: "Get Rid Of Flynn Get A New Number 2 Working With Hughes And Darlo."

LIQUID: "12 goals conceded and 3 straight reds is a major step backwards."

DAVID BAUGH: "A trend is developing where we keep giving soft goals away, especially away from home. If this continues we will be too far behind the leading pack."

GORDON VALLANCE: "Brian Flynn used to say you can only judge after 10 games three to go so let’s wait still time to win next three games and the picture will look different." MARK FALSTEAD: "Poor, right players almost but weak management. Missing a Brad Walker type midfielder. Hughes needs proper help as out of his depth. Darlington needs to commit to F/T or go. Flynn moved to Director of Football & new experienced Asst Manager brought in." JOE: "Drop Barnum-Bobb, feed the ball into Redmond more, Young needs a better midfield partner, Hooper is too isolated."

DP: "Awful for a team of our calibre. We should be in or just outside the top 3 right now but we are 9 points off the pace after 7 games. Midfield needs more creativity, wingers need to be closer to JJ, less sideways passing and get Redmond more involved in central areas."

ALAN PRITCHARD: "A very disjointed and mediocre start. The team looks like it’s taken a backward step from last year. Most of the new signings look poor. Same old spin merchants will say otherwise.... changes are needed - starting in the boardroom."

ALAN: "Players need to take some responsibility for their poor discipline. We also need to be much better in both penalty areas especially defending set pieces where we’ve looked shaky. Positives that in 3 of the away games we’ve actually taken the lead but failed to hold on."

KEVIN TAYLOR: "Think we have a good squad, perhaps missing 2 more quality players, Hughes needs fulltime assistant with him and be given till Mid Oct to prove he is man for job , need to be within 6 points of top. Disappointing so far."

STUART BUXTON: "Its all a bit of a mess to be honest. I dont think anybody expected such a bad start and Hughes is now under a lot of pressure to reverse our form or serious questions will be asked.

TOM: "If they’re to keep Hughes drop Barnum Bobb, play grant as the number 10 he’s already said it’s his favourite position, lainton back in goal and possibly even go back to non overlapping fullbacks as that’s where we are getting killed every game. WORK ON DEFENDING SET PIECES."

JAMIE JONES: "We weren’t ruthless enough with the midfield in the summer , Summerfield and Wright should’ve been replaced. BH needs an experienced assistant who can help him on a daily basis."

RAD BEER TRADE: "Give Oswell a chance, a joke he wasn't on the bench."
