LUKE SUMMERFIELD hopes Wrexham's excellent home record can rub off on the Reds' stuttering away form.

Although they have won their opening two matches at The Racecourse, Wrexham are still looking for a first victory on their travels, taking two points from a possible nine with the latest road game at Notts County on Sunday ending in a 1-1 draw.

Wrexham are back on home soil this afternoon against Barnet and Summerfield wants the Reds to continue picking up positive results on their own patch and follow suit on away days.

"We have proved how good we can be at home," said the midfielder.

"We know what we can do in this league and our home form can take us right to the top of the league.

"If we can make The Racecourse a fortress, that would be amazing for us, and if our away form can replicate our home form, I think we can be in with a great shout.

"Looking back on Sunday, I think it was a good point and if we can come away with a few more three points away from home, it will be a big positive for us."

When asked whether he was happy with a return of eight points from the opening five games, Summerfield added: "As a player you always want to improve and that is no different.

"Certain things have happened in certain away games and I think we have dropped a few points away from home, we have been in such good positions.

"But that's football; this league is very hard and we move on."
