WREXHAM came from behind to draw 1-1 against Notts County but the Reds are still looking for their first away win of the season.

Although Wrexham made a bright start at Meadow Lane, County made a good response and had chances to go ahead as they had the better of the first half, with the Reds creating very little in the final third.

County also had opportunities after the break with Wrexham struggling on the attack and the Magpies took a 69th minute lead.

But it was shortlived as Devonte Redmond equalised five minutes later to earn Wrexham a point.

County, relegated from the Football League last season, will be more disappointed not to have won after having the majority of the chances and although Wrexham never left with three points, it was a good battling performance from Bryan Hughes' side.

Wrexham's starting line-up showed two changes from the side that beat Halifax 1-0 in midweek.

Centre-back Michael Chambers came into the team in place of Jake Lawlor, who was serving a one-match ban following his sending off against the Shaymen, and Paul Rutherford replaced Leighton McIntosh on the wing.

Both Chambers and Rutherford were handed their first starts of the campaign, and it was also the first time in the opening five games that substitute Akil Wright made the squad after recovering from illness.

Jason Oswell was omitted from the 16 players on duty while Bobby Grant remained sidelined as he served the second of his three match suspension.

Wrexham were quick out of the blocks and after winning a first minute corner, James Jennings headed over from Luke Summerfield's flag-kick.

County began to come more into the game and Kristian Dennis' shot lacked power and was comfortably saved by Dibble who then did even better to turn Regan Booty's effort behind for a corner.

With the hosts continuing to put Wrexham under pressure, Jennings cleared a goalbound Ben Turner header in the danger-zone and Wes Thomas' teasing ball across goal just needed a touch from a team-mate.

Wrexham weathered the storm but County were a threat on the counter attack and almost scored in the 41st minute as Rose's 25 yard drive landed inches wide of Dibble's goal.

Dibble was needed to deny Thomas after the striker got past Shaun Pearson in the area and it remained goalless at the break.

Wrexham made a positive start to the second half but two corners came to nothing and again it was County who carved out the chances with Enzio Boldewijn going close following a neat move.

There was a promising moment for Wrexham when Harris beat his man in the area but Turner made a vital tackle, and Summerfield wasn't far away with a shot from outside the area.

But the Reds were indebted to Pearson who made a brilliant challenge to block Thomas' effort.

There was a let-off for Wrexham when Devonte Redmond's stray pass picked up by Rose who laid off to Thomas and the striker fired over when he should have done better.

But County took the lead after 69 minutes.

Dibble misjudged a Booty cross and Dennis headed in at the far post.

Booty also fired wide but Wrexham levelled in the 74th minute with their first shot on target.

Redmond took aim from the edge of the area and his shot beat keeper Sam Slocombe.

Wrexham had a let-off when Nathan Tyson cleared the bar from a good position and Dibble pulled off a good save from Boldewijn, but the Magpies' late pressure failed to lead to a winner.
