MARK HARRIS has made a dream start to his Wrexham career but the striker isn't getting carried away and know he must continue delivering the goods.

The 20-year-old, who arrived at The Racecourse on a season-long loan deal from Cardiff City in the summer, scored for the third game in a row as Wrexham beat Halifax Town 1-0 on Tuesday.

Although delighted to have made an immediate impact, Harris won't rest on his laurels.

"I came here to score goals and make assists," said Harris. "Three goals in four games, you can't ask for much more really but it has got to continue now.

"I can't just be happy with three goals, I have got to keep pushing and keep doing it so let's hope that happens."

Harris, on target in away matches at Boreham Wood and Dover, was over the moon to get his first goal at The Racecourse in front of more than 5,500 supporters after the Reds had Jake Lawlor sent off.

"It is always nice to get a goal, especially at home," said Harris.

"My first two goals were away so to get my first goal at The Racecourse means a lot to me, and to get three points with 10 men, it is even better.

"When the final whistle went it was an amazing feeling.

"But that is done now and we have got to move onto Sunday's game at Notts County."

Wrexham played well against Halifax but their chances of registering victory took a blow when Lawlor was shown a straight red card in the second half.

However, the Reds continued to press with 10 men and Harris supplied a cool finish in the 78th minute after racing onto substitute Paul Rutherford's through ball.

"First half I thought we deserved to be two or maybe three goals up," said Harris.

"I had a couple of shots and a few of the other boys but we just couldn't get it in the net.

"We were all thinking 'it's not going to be one of them days is it?'

"But we said at half-time we are going to go out and win.

"The red card came but we didn't give up from there. The gaffer went with two up front, we went for it and we played as if it was normal.

"Ruthers played the ball through and I just had to keep myself composed; luckily I just dinked it over the goalkeeper and it was great it went in."

Wrexham head to Notts County looking for their first away win of the campaign.

A 2-2 draw at Boreham Wood, after squandering a two-goal lead, was followed by Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Dover where the Reds went ahead but conceded twice following the dismissal of Bobby Grant.

However, Harris is not concerned with Wrexham's form on their travels

"I am speaking from all the lads, we deserved to win both away games," said Harris.

"We were 2-0 up at Boreham Wood in the 81st minute and we should have seen it out, we know it was our fault.

"We should have won and then Dover, 1-0 up, the red card killed us a little bit but we should have held on there.

"But I am not too worried about our away form, I think we have got enough in the changing room to be fine with that.

"We start Sunday and hopefully get a win."

Harris, who faced Notts County last season during a loan spell with Newport, is hoping to contribute with another goal in a Wrexham win.

"Them coming down from League Two, I played against them last season," said Harris.

"I know the ground so hopefully I can put my mark on that ground and score another goal, and get the three points."
