BRYAN HUGHES is backing his Wrexham side to get back on track tonight and end Halifax Town's superb start to the season.

Back to back away games only resulted in one point as Wrexham drew at Boreham Wood last Tuesday after squandering a two-goal lead before losing 2-1 against Dover on Saturday with the Reds once again taking the lead.

Those results came on the back of an opening day 2-1 win against Barrow and means Wrexham have taken four points from a possible nine.

Halifax have made a flying start with a 100 per cent record after three games to sit top of the National League but Hughes says Wrexham will be fired up to get back to winning ways.

“It is fine margins in this National League," said Hughes.

“Halifax have hit the ground running, they have got three wins from three and I am sure they will be absolutely delighted.

“I think if you take some of the fine margins out of our game, we could be sitting here three from three but we aren’t.

“There is still a long way to go. I have been pleased with the performance value of our team, I have been pleased with the commitment value, the desire of them and the togetherness that they showed, especially in the second half .

“It just wasn’t enough in the second half.

“It is about picking them up now but we will be ready for Halifax.

“Our home record has been good so hopefully we can go there full of confidence and bounce back after this performance."
