GRAHAM BARROW insists that FA Trophy progress matters to him and Wrexham.

Having exited the FA Cup on Tuesday following a 4-0 defeat to Newport County, Barrow is happy to give the knockout competition, which Wrexham won in 2013, his full attention.

"I've always liked it as a competition myself," said Barrow, who led Chester to the last four of the competition in 2001, the Blues losing 4-0 on aggregate to Canvey Island.

"I've only been to the semi-finals and quarter-finals, I've never been to the final.

"Any final of that nature is good to be involved in.

"I'm not one of those people that wants to get out of cup competitions. I think success breeds success.

"The lure of getting to Wembley has always been big for me."

Rather than stew over Wrexham's FA Cup defeat to Newport on the trip home on Tuesday, Barrow was running the rule over Saturday's visitors to north Wales.

On Boston, who are eighth in National League North, Barrow said: "I've had a report on them and on the coach I was able to take the time to look at it.

"There are a few players on there we are aware of and they are having a reasonable go at things this season.

"We know what level they are at and it will be a tough game because it is a big deal for them to come here.

"I've always found that it's a plus playing here, but teams do raise their games."

Despite targeting victory, Barrow did confirm that there would be changes to the starting XI that lost at Rodney Parade in midweek.

Kevin Roberts, Rekeil Pyke and Luke Young are amongst the players who look set to miss out for Wrexham.

Barrow said: "We will have to make some changes because there are cases for rest, but we haven't got that many options if I'm being brutally honest at this moment in time.

"Odd players definitely deserve to be given their stage and there is no better stage than here in a cup tie."
