JORDAN MAGUIRE-DREW is determined to leave Wrexham Football Club in a better position than he found it.

Maguire-Drew’s season long loan from Brighton is the 20-year-old’s fourth temporary move of his fledgling career.

But the tricky winger is as motivated as any member of the Wrexham squad to help Sam Ricketts’ Reds win promotion from the National League.

“I’m here to do well for me and for Wrexham,” declared Maguire-Drew when asked about life on-loan, something he’s also tasted at Dagenham and Redbridge, Lincoln and Coventry.

“The manager, the staff and the players have been brilliant with me.

“I love it here and I want to get this club back in the Football League, that’s what I want to do.

“For me to do that, I’ve got to play well on the pitch and do well for Wrexham.

“I want to get the club back in the Football League and go from there.”

For Wrexham to continue their promotion push they need to improve their goal output.

The Reds have scored just eight goals in their last nine games in all competitions, but Maguire-Drew, who hasn’t found the net since September 8, said: “It’s not like we aren’t creating chances - that’s when you’ve got to be worried - but we are.

“One week we might create a lot and score one goal, another week we might only create four chances and score the lot and everyone goes ‘wow’. I’m not worried.”
