MARK CARRINGTON has warned Wrexham’s rivals that the Reds are equipped to fight on all fronts until the very end of the season.

Wrexham booked a first round FA Cup tie with Weston-Super-Mare after a 2-0 fourth qualifying round replay win over Harrogate Town.

Sam Ricketts’ men now face three National League games in seven days before their trip to the Woodspring Stadium, while further progress in the FA Cup causing disruption to their fixture list.

But Carrington is relishing the chance for Wrexham to fight on all fronts this season.

“We’ve got a good group of players,” said Carrington, who was switched from the left to the right of Wrexham’s defence on Tuesday as Ricketts made five changes from Saturday’s goalless draw with Simon Weaver’s Harrogate.

“We can cope with playing Saturday-Tuesday, Saturday-Tuesday all season if we need to.

“We will see how far we can go in the cup competitions and obviously the league is something we want to do our best in and get promoted at the end of the season.”

Carrington, famed for his goal at Stoke City in the third round of the FA Cup in 2015, continued: “It’s a good competition to go forward in.

“We’ve got a hard tie away now, it will be a tough place to go, but it gives us another chance to push on again.”

Switching his attentions to Saturday’s trip to Chesterfield, Carrington is looking forward to a fresh challenge.

“I feels like we’ve played Harrogate about 500 times lately,” joked the 31-year-old.

“Three points and nothing less is what we are going to Chesterfield for.

“We want to get promoted this season and we are on a good run of form, but it will be a tough place to go against an experienced side.

“We’ve got to make sure we go there, match them and get the win.”

And Carrington is hoping to get the nod from Ricketts when the Reds boss names his starting XI.

“I will play anywhere,” he said. “The gaffer read the team out and I was at right-back, so that’s where I played.

“I’m not bothered where I play, but to be honest I’m enjoying playing at full-back this season. The way we play and the way we get forward allows me to get on the ball.

“I’m really enjoying my football.”
