STUART BEAVON has signed for Nuneaton Borough.

Experienced striker Beavon spent the whole of last season on loan at Wrexham from Coventry City, finishing joint top scorer with six goals, but he was released by the Sky Blues in May.

The 35-year-old has signed for Nuneaton, who were relegated from National League North following a troubled campaign, and will line up for Jimmy Ginnelly’s side in the sixth tier in 2019-20.

Beavon, who has also played for the likes of Wycombe, Preston and Burton, told the club's official website: “After speaking to Jimmy I knew this was the right move for me.

“I know about all of the problems from last season and about all of the work that’s been done to get the club back on the right track.

"I want to be part of that, it’s a big club and, along with the squad that’s already here, I think I can help get the Boro back up.”

AFC Fylde manager Dave Challinor has completed his seventh new signing of the summer with midfielder Mark Yeates joining the Coasters from Eastleigh.

The experienced Yeates helped the Spitfires reach the play-offs last season, where they beat Wrexham 1-0 in the eliminator before losing to Salford, registering 26 assists throughout the campaign.

The 34-year-old has made more than 500 appearances in his career, playing for the likes of Tottenham, Colchester, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United, Watford and Bradford.

Eastleigh, who have also lost leading scorer Paul McCallum to Solihull Moors, have seen another player leave the club with Josh Hare moving to League One side Bristol Rovers.

The right-back impressed for the Spitfires last term and secured a place in the National League Team of the Season.
