PAUL RUTHERFORD and Doug Tharme have both signed one year deals to remain at Wrexham.

The duo were among seven players offered new contracts by Reds boss Bryan Hughes at the end of the season.

Winger Rutherford, who arrived at The Racecourse in the summer of 2016, was the first player to indicate he was accepting the offer when Hughes announced his retained list last Wednesday and has now put pen to paper.

The 31-year-old made 48 appearances during the 2018-19 campaign and scored the only goal in the 1-0 win against Solihull Moors over the festive period.

Tharme has joined Rutherford in extending his stay at the club for another year.

The highly rated centre-back came through the ranks at The Racecourse and signed his first professional deal last summer.

Tharme, 19, made five appearances last season.

Hughes has also offered deals to Player of the Season Rob Lainton, James Jennings, Mark Carrington, Luke Summerfield and Kieran Kennedy, and talks are on-going with the five players.
