JASON OSWELL will use the dream of playing at Wembley as motivation in Wrexham's play-off bid.

A quickfire return to League Two - Oswell left Morecambe for Wrexham in January - is the ultimate Reds' goal, and the 26-year-old is targeting victory at the home of football to cap off a memorable campaign.

Wrexham will face either Harrogate or Eastleigh at The Racecourse on Wednesday or Thursday, with victory booking an away play-off semi-final next weekend.

Two wins will secure a spot at Wembley and a chance for Wrexham's players to write their names in the history books.

"If you win that first play-off game the confidence flies," said Oswell. "The crowd will be up with us and we will be one game away from Wembley, which is the dream.

"It's every footballers' dream to play at Wembley so I'm definitely thinking about it. The motivation to get through the next two weeks is the end goal of playing at Wembley and winning promotion to League Two.

"There are always goals throughout the season, but it's crazy that after 40-plus games it ends up with just one or two points separating the top teams."

While Wembley is the main aim, Oswell is excited at the prospect of next week's home play-off preliminary round tie.

He said: "They are the games you want to play in as a footballer. The games where the stadium is packed under the lights are the special occasions and the ones you remember.

"You won't remember the likes of Boreham Wood away in 10 years time, but you will remember the play-off game that is key to success."
