GRAHAM BARROW wants Wrexham to rediscover an aggressive streak he feels has been lacking during their barren run.

The Reds go into tomorrow's game at AFC Fylde on the back of four successive defeats, the latest coming last Saturday when title rivals Leyton Orient triumphed 1-0 in the FA Trophy second round tie.

Barrow took the opportunity to rest captain Shaun Pearson and striker Bobby Grant, among others, but both are set to return against the Coasters.

The Reds boss insists spirits are high in the Wrexham camp despite the dip in form but he believes the players need to assert themselves more on games.

"The lads here when you are around the corridor are fine," said Barrow.

"I have to say that without the skipper last week they were quiet but he is a man mountain and brings a lot to it.

"Bobby Grant is a character, they are nice lads really.

"I wasn't so nice as a player, I was nice and pleasant in the dressing room but once you are on the pitch.

"In the last few games, with confidence, we are losing certain situations that we shouldn't lose so we spoke about that and I think you have to have that aggression without being stupid and nasty.

"You have to have that aggression to your game for your ability to come out so we need to get back to that."

Barrow wants his side to take games by the scruff of the neck in the push for promotion rather than be inspired by their opponents.

"I can think back to certain games that we have played and it takes two to tango, the opposition as well," said Barrow.

"There have been games that were like League One games, Fylde at home was one of them.

"We play such a high standard and it is like the opposition have to bring the best out of us where we should give the best ourselves.

"Fylde played really well first half but we stayed with them and we dominated the second half.

"It shouldn't be the opposition that bring the best out of us, it should be the occasion, the situation that we are in that brings the best out of us and that is what we are trying to get over."
