JASON OSWELL has joined Wrexham from Morecambe.

The 26-year-old striker makes the switch to The Racecourse on an 18 month contract.

Oswell signed for League Two Morecambe in the summer from Stockport County on on a two-year deal following a superb 2017-18 season for the National League North outfit.

He scored 29 goals in 47 games for Stockport and was named their player of the year.

A former Crewe Alexandra youngster, Oswell has also has spells with Inverness, Rhyl, Airbus and Newtown, and he scored two goals in 23 appearances for Morecambe this term, making more substitute appearances than starts.

Oswell's deal was completed late on Friday night which prevented him being available for today's home match with Dover Athletic.

But paperwork has been submitted and Wrexham hope to have Oswell in contention for a debut in Tuesday's game at Bromley.

Wrexham manager Graham Barrow was glad to secure the services of Oswell.

“I’m delighted to have secured the services of Jason here at Wrexham for at least 18 months," said Barrow.

“He’s a natural goal scorer who I have monitored for a while. He will come in now and help out up front, an area that I have been wanting to strengthen during this January window.”
