WAR MEMORIAL A maintained their challenge for the Wrexham Snooker League title with a 5-1 win against St Marys B.

Andy Brand (52-45 against Gaz Jones) and Damian Monks (96-21 over Tommy Griffiths) put War Memorial in control but Mark Hughes beat Mark Jarvis 58-54 to pull a frame back for St Marys.

War Memorial then pulled away thanks to wins by Daz Crofts (66-35 against Tim Wood) and Ash Jones (82-24 over John Williams to make it 4-1, and they took the aggregate 273-217 for another point.

Third placed War Memorial are 12 points behind leaders Gresford VRC A who thrashed Brymbo Sports A 6-0, Simon Moulton making a break of 53 in the victory.

Gwersyllt Club A in second triumphed 6-0 at Johnstown RBL A and are one point behind the leaders with a game in hand, while fourth placed Gresford VRC C beat Rhos Snooker Club 4-2.

Gresford VRC B lost 4-2 at Brymbo Cons Club, St Marys A overcame War Memorial B 5-1 and Johnstown RBL B defeated Brymbo Sports B 4-2.
