THE battle of the Brymbo sides in the Wrexham Snooker League ended in a 3-3 draw.

It was Brymbo Cons who took the early initiative and led 2-0 through Gwyn Rogers (58-47 against Tai Jones) and Carl Guest (51-48 over James Roberts).

But Brymbo Sports B stormed back to level at 2-2 through Ross Williams (65-41 against Jason Davies) and Mark Edwards (67-18 over Lee Bennett).

Matt Hooson beat Ross Tomlinson 63-49 to put Cons 3-2 ahead but Sports took the aggregate 276-231 to secure a draw.

Sports are third in the table, 14 points behind leaders Gwersyllt Club A who thrashed St Marys B 6-0.

Second placed Gresford VRC A also won 6-0 against War Memorial B and Gwersyllt Club B overcame St Marys A 4-2.

Gwersyllt's Kerrie Jones made a 72 break - the highest so far in the league this season - in his win and team-mate Tom Cochran compiled a 35.

Matt Roberts of Johnstown RBL B had a run of 59 to register his 10th win from as many outings and help his side defeat Gresford VRC C 4-2 and Kev Furmston of Rhos Snooker Club made a 38 as his team triumphed 5-1 over Johnstown RBL A.

Gresford VRC B lost 6-0 at home to War Memorial A.

Ranch B beat Buckley Cons D 4-3, Buckley Cons B defeated Ranch A 4-2, Buckley Cons A lost 4-2 at Groves B and Ewloe C saw off Ewloe A 4-0.

The other two games also finished 4-2 as St Werburghs C lost at home to Christleton and Whitby defeated Upton RBL C.
