Flint Phoenix A were also able to progress as they overcame Llanferres C 11-5.

Undefeated Sammy Hutt was player of the match for Phoenix, and together with Carla White, the duo got the better of Hazel Hyslop and Wendy Swash at first ladies, 21/16, 21/17

Mold C were also in league action, drawing their Division Three trip to Denbigh B 4-4.

Denbigh's Jane Thomas and Bethan Sian were in good form at first ladies, getting the better of Helena Warman and Matsko 21/8, 21/11.

In Division Two, Eryl Hooson's impressive performance was not enough to prevent Holywell A from slipping to a 5-3 defeat at the hands of visitors Llanferres B.

Hooson and Anne Booth combined against the experienced Llanferres pairing of Gill Tustain and Peter Williams, the match needing a deciding game.

After Hooson and Booth won the opener 21/19, Tustain and Williams forced a third game after taking the second contest 21/13.

But it was the home side's pairing that won through with a combination of tight net play and powerful smashes, the duo winning the decider 21/17/

Rossett B enjoyed their trip to Connah's Quay as they made light work of the hosts to run out 7-1 victors.

Iris Patterson and Sarah Burke were Connah's Quay's only winners on the night, playing some superb doubles tactics to get the better of Rossett's Marie Jones and Neil Pritchard 21/18, 22/20.
