AIRBUS will pursue 'proven quality' this summer to bolster their squad ahead of next season's return to the Welsh Premier League.

Steve O'Shaughnessy's Cymru Alliance league and cup double-winners were the dominant force in Tier Two last term, but are eyeing new additions to bolster their prospects in the top-flight.

While the bulk of last season's squad look likely to be retained, the club have parted ways with striker Asa Hamilton who has joined Rhyl.

Assistant Wingmakers boss Andy Thomas said: "Asa's spoken with Steve about his future and has decided to look for another club next season.

"He was great for us last season and a big character in the dressing room, so I'm sure he'll do well at his new club.

"For us we're looking to keep a solid core from last season.

"We've already spoken to most of the current squad players and we're confident that we'll be keeping a lot of them.

"But we also need to strengthen in areas too and so we'll look to bring in proven quality, with players who've got Welsh Premier experience and who've played in the higher divisions.

"One are two things are ongoing and we'll be announcing some new signings once the registration period opens in a few weeks."

Flint Town United have wasted no time in recruiting new talent, with Niall McGuinness adding three new faces to his squad this week.

Former Chester attacker Nathan Brown joins ex-Colwyn By forward Danny Andrews and Denbigh Town centre back Tony Davies at Cae-y-Castell.

Gresford Athletic have confirmed a restructuring of their management team, with Richard Capper stepping up from his role as assistant to replace Steve Halliwell as manager.

Halliwell, who does not hold a UEFA B Licence, will likely switch to Director of Football role, with former Shrewsbury Town and Airbus midfielder Nick Ward appointed as assistant manager.

The Colliers have also swooped quickly to bring in central midfielder Paul Willow from relegated Holywell Town, and striker Matthew Worrall from Llay Welfare.

Halliwell said: "We're hoping that these will be two big signings for us.

"Paul's a well-established and well-respected midfielder. Bringing him in is real coup for us and I'm looking forward to working with him next season.

"I've seen Matty play a few times for Llay and kept a close eye on him. He's got a ruthless streak and causes the opposition a lot of problems.

"We were a bit too nice last season and were getting bullied at times. But these are the types of signings that will help us address that and strengthen us where we need it most."
