BRICKFIELD RANGERS are North East Wales Under-19s Challenge Cup champions after beating Mold Alex 3-1.

A tense opening 45 minutes ended goalless before Mold Alex made the most of a defensive mix-up, Aaron Davies squeezing the ball past Max Haftavani.

The goal sparked Brickfield into life, Kian Davies levelling matters after an inch-perfect pass from Max Northall, who followed up that assist with a match-winning brace.

Chirk AAA and Coedpoeth United, meanwhile, continued their scrap for the Under-19s League title.

Leaders Chirk stayed one-point ahead of Coedpoeth, who have two games in-hand, as they defeated visiting Mynydd Isa Spartans 7-2.

Harry Evans struck a brace as Chirk went in 2-1 up at the break, Kieran Jones netting Isa's goal, before Jordan Walker added the away side's second.

Niall Freeman (2), Ryan Houghton, Joe Roberts and Cameron Roberts made sure that Isa's second goal was nothing more than a consolation with further efforts for Chirk.

Coedpoeth remain favourites for the title after they secured a 5-0 home success over Rhydymwyn.

Oliver Lewis, Shaun Phelan and Ben Palmer put Coedpoeth in total control by the break, before Edgar Costa and Owen Slawson added second-half efforts.
