HAWARDEN RANGERS will have plenty of chances to make a name for themselves in this weekend’s North East Wales FA Festival at Airbus.

Their Hawks team kick off the action at 6pm tonight in the U12s Final against Wrexham League winners Gresford Athletic.

The U14s take on Borras Park Rangers tomorrow while in the U16s Final at 6.30pm, the Hawks take on a Mynydd Isa Juniors side (pictured), who have been together since they were six.

“We have been together since the under sixes and have played in every season until this, our final year in junior football,” said the team’s manager Jason Gatrell.

“Our team has progressively improved every season finishing fifth, fourth, third, runners up last year and finally winning this season.

“The pleasing aspect of this achievement is that the team does not include academy players, which should be encouraging for all other grass root teams having to compete with academy-based teams.

“The team has also enjoyed success over previous years, having won many tournaments including our own home tournament as under sevens.

“One of the highlights in the history of this team though was the trip to Holland and Germany which saw the team play a friendly and finish third in a tournament represented by many teams from four different countries. “

The Under 15s Final will be between Borras Park Rangers and Flint Town Juniors while it’s an all-Wrexham affair between Borras Park Albion and Rhosddu United in the U13s final

Mold Alex will take on Brickfield Rangers in the U19s final at 10am on Sunday morning and that will be followed by the Womens Cup final between Llanfair and Bethel.
