And they did it in style with a double-figure win over Brickfield Rangers. Alfie Pretsall hit another five goals with Harvey Jones and Josh Davies-Sewell firing in four each. Charlie Nield, Ben Edwards and Evan Thomas also scored for Athletic, who have two games left to play.

Llay United are finishing the season in style and after a 4-0 win at Coedpoeth United where Ashley Williams (3) and Rhys Williams, they saw off Chirk.

Tom Blaze fired four, Lucas Cupit hit a treble with Tom Jones (2), Rhys Williams and Ashley Williams completing their tally.

Borras Park Rangers also enjoyed a 5-0 midweek success at Chirk where Ethan Davies, Ianto Shaffer, Korey Weston-Jones (2) and Kian Davies all netted.

In the Brian Jones U14s Cup semi-finals, Brymbo Lodge made it through to the final after a 2-1 victory over Llay United.

Harvey Almeda netted a goal in each half to secure the win.

Facing them in the final will be Gresford Athletic, who were also 2-1 winners over Rhosddu United U13s. Louis Bullock grabbed both goals after Ryan Powell gave the hosts a chance of causing an upset.

At Under 15 level, Brymbo Lodge ran their hosts Borras Park Rangers really close but a brace from the in-form Alex Palmer separated the sides despite Connor Wells replying with clever lobs to make it 2-1.

In the U13 League, Brymbo Lodge slumped to a 6-0 defeat against visiting Ruthin Town who netted through four-goal Sean Davies-Robson, Sion Tudor and Gethin Beech Jones.

Borras Park Albion are finishing their U16s League campaign strongly and they defeated Ruthin Town 2-1.
