CEFN DRUIDS proved they are the best team in the Reserve Division by beating title rivals Ruthin 6-2 to secure the trophy.
Druids were top of the table on goal difference 24 hours prior to the game, but updated standings on the morning of the match showed Ruthin leading the way with Chirk pulling out and their results expunged.
There was some debate as to whether expunging Chirk’s results after they completed the season was in keeping with the rules, but it mattered little as Druids cruised to victory - and the title at The Rock.
Danny Gossett fired home a hat-trick, while Arek Piskorski, Iwan Cartwright and Alex Buxton scored the goals as Druids finished the season on high.
Gossett, Piskorski and Cartwright could be back in action for the first team as they host Carmarthen on Saturday afternoon.
