PLAS MADOC will do the double on Tuesday night if they beat Rhydymwyn in the Welsh National League’s Division One Cup Final.

Madoc have a full squad to pick from as they look to continue the feelgood factor in the area after neighbours Cefn Albion lifted the Welsh Trophy on Saturday.

Ryan Roberts’ side sealed the title weeks ago and haven’t lost a league game all season, winning 20 and drawing two in a superb campaign.

“Preparation has been good and the lads are raring to go to bring home the cup,” said club spokesperson Laura Edwards.

Ahead of tonight’s final at Mold Alex, Rhydymwyn manager Dave Willetts bemoaned playing a game on Saturday.

“We could have done without Saturday’s game with Cefn Mawr,” he said. “We had three forced substitutions due to knocks that puts a question mark over availability tonight. No less than six will undergo late fitness tests but unfortunately Jord Taylor will not recover in time.”

In Premier Division action, Chirk AAA take on Brymbo and they are likely to recall keeper Tom Belton and Hari Gould.

Brymbo boss Phil Hudson said: “Top scorer Ben Kearney and midfielder Mark Beech will both be missing but we will head to Chirk in search of three points to strengthen our title challenge as a win would take us back to the top.”

Reserves and Colts Division: Cefn Alb v Coedpoeth; Mynydd Isa Spartans v Holywell.

The race for the Welsh Alliance Division One title hots up tonight.

Leaders Llangefni Town host Mynydd Llandegai, while Bodedern, who are two points behind but have a game in hand, head to Nantlle Vale.
