PENYCAE Under 16s are closing in on the double.

Already crowned league champions after completing their campaign undefeated, Penycae's 5-1 success at home against Kinnerton Oaks earned them a place in the League Cup final.

Jaden Jones' scoring record has been immense and he notched a another two goals. Completing their tally were Owen Bathers, Ben Davies and Polat Ciftci.

In the league cup quarter final, Borras Park Rangers Under 15’s had a bright start against Ruthin Town with striker Alex Palmer making a nuisance of himself and standing out.

Ruthin stayed patient and once Cai Aykroyd broke the deadlock there was no looking back and steering them to a 3-0 success were Dyfydd Jones and Owen Heath.

The top action at Under 14 level was in the League Cup and Borras Park Albion Under 13’s made a real scrap of things before surrendering 3-1 against the much-fancied Brickfield Rangers U14 side.

Albion made a big impression and matched them blow for blow throughout the opening half, even taking the lead through Harvey Davies.

The goal gave Rangers and they upped the tempo to progress. Dylan Jones scored all three goals for them but it was the smallest lad on the pitch, Harry Walton, who worked hard in the Brickfield midfield and was voted man of the match.

THE Chirk Youth juggernaut goes rolling along and they crushed hosts Coedpoeth 11-0 in the Under 14s League.

Vinny Cooke converted a hat-trick, Gruff Ellis weighed in with his customary brace and completing the rout were Terrell Nash, Olly Pearce, James Davies, Brandon Edwards, Jake Heyward and Matty Wright.

Borras Park Albion were made to work hard for maximum points but they just shaded their epic with Brymbo Lodge 3-2. On target were Joe Matthias, Artie Faithfull and Roman Galante who snatched a last gasp winner. Running Brymbo close were Harley Almeda and Ethan Simpson.

Borras Park Rangers failed to impress and they were defeated 4-2 by visitors Gresford Athletic who netted through Louis Bullock (2), Owain Evans and Harry Williams.

Llangollen Youth were second best against a rampant Ruthin Town whose jewel in the crown was Ifan Tudor Jones as he converted a treble and completing their 4-0 success was Elis Pavlou.

Llay United went down 3-1 against FC Rhosddu whose marksmen were Ben Williams and Jack Fairlamb with a double salvo.

Rhosddu United were humbled 3-0 by Johnstown Youth.

Turning to the Under 13 league, top dogs Borras Albion were on cup duty so they had their lead reduced by chasing sides Coedpoeth and Corwen.

Coedy sent Brymbo Lodge crashing to 5-0 defeat and making up the hosts nap hand were Callum Roberts, Ben Griffiths, David De Costa, Adam Thomas and James Willis.

Corwen were given a tough time by Ruthin Town but they triumphed 4-2 in the end courtesy of strikes by Morgan Hodgson, Joel Gardner, Frankie Brabury and an own goal. Reducing the arrears were Seth Dolben Evans and Gethin Beech Jones.

Bala Juniors sent visitors Penycae Youth packing 3-0 thanks to strikes from Cadog Edwards, Ifan Jones with a superb volley and Gwidion Roberts.

Dave Szabo bagged himself two goals for Brickfield Rangers before they slumped to a 3-2 defeat against Gresford Athletic who netted through Henry Royce and the game's best player, Sam Page, who struck twice.

Kinnerton Oaks were floored 7-0 by Rhostyllen Youth whose marksmen were Joseph Reddington, Riley Taylor, Tyler Morris(2) and star performer Ethan Pritchard who converted a hat-trick.

The Llay United versus Rhosddu United clash was a close affair as the hosts won 4-3 and were on target through Nick Jorjev and Kai Hughes who was unplayable at times and was rewarded with a hat-trick. Taking the clash to the wire for Rhosddu was Ryan Powell and Joe Jones with a double salvo.

Despite not having a game, the chances of Gresford Athletic winning the Under 12 league were enhanced by the fact main rivals Llay United were beaten 5-4 by Ruthin Town after they surrendered a 3-0 lead.

Turning the game on its head for Ruthin were Aled Jones with a brace and man of the match Gruffudd Hughes-Owen who converted a hat-trick. Taking Llay close were Tom Blaze, Rhys Williams (2) and Josh Anders who also had them in charge at 4-3.

It is business as usual for Borras Park Albion and after a sticky patch, they secured a 6-0 success at Brymbo Lodge. They won thanks to hat-trick hero Callum Taylor, Taylor Williams, Jack Pritchard and Nathan Brylowski.

Cefn United secured one of their best results of the campaign to defeat Llangollen Youth 9-0. Ryan Jakolevs was in a class of his own weighing in with four goals, Harley Dipper secured a hat-trick and completing their whitewash were George Brooke-Jones and Samuel Antrobus.

Kinnerton Oaks were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Borras Park Rangers who netted through Ethan Davies and Ioan Jones.

At Under 15 level, Ruthin Town beat Rhos Aelwyd 6-0 and their marksmen were Dan Dolben with a treble, Sean Kell, Josh Glover and Hari Roberts.
