AIRBUS returned to winning ways and kept the pressure on Welsh Premier Development League leaders Cefn Druids courtesy of a 5-1 victory over Caernarfon.

The Wingmakers slipped four points behind Druids when they were surprisingly beaten 4-2 by Rhyl last weekend, but Rick Chapman put that blip behind them.

Harvey Ellis and Stu McHarrie put Airbus two goals to the good inside 10 minutes, before Owen Payne added a third shortly after the break.

McHarrie completed his hat-trick with a quickfire brace after the hour mark to leave boss Chapman delighted.

He said: "We spoke before the game about the importance of a performance.

"We could’ve asked for a better start, we controlled the game and passed the ball much better than last week.

"Credit to the lads, the energy levels were excellent and tempo we played at was back to the way it has been. That’s all I can ask of them, they were superb."

Cefn Druids still have a four-point cushion over Airbus, who have two games in-hand, after they won 4-3 at Rhyl.

Isaac Dawson (2), Lewis George and Tom Faithfull found the net as Shaun Colley's side returned home with the points.

Colley tweeted: "Easy to pinpoint improvements needed, but difficult when punished for every mistake.

"Showed great resilience, delighted with the performance too, we stood up and were counted!

"First ever top four finish becoming a reality."

Connah's Quay Nomads lost ground on the top two as they were held 2-2 by visiting Bangor City, while Flint Town United lost 3-1 at Llandudno and The New Saints defeated Newtown 5-1.

Coedpoeth United ran riot as they cruised to an 11-0 success at Brymbo Lodge in the Flintshire Under-19s League.

Oliver Lewis found the back of the net four times, with Ross Hardy-Partington netting a hat-trick and Ben Palmer (2), Dion Lewis and Cameron Lewis completing the rout.

Leaders Holywell were comfortable 5-2 victors over Llay Welfare Colts, who saw Kian Turton and Cameron Boyle net their efforts.

Finding the target for the Wellmen were Jake Cooke (2), Callum Pritchard, Ethan Farren and Dylan Williams.

Second placed Chirk AAA kept up the pressure on Holywell by securing a 1-0 home success over Brickfield courtesy of Cameron Roberts' first-half effort.

There were 3-1 wins for FC Brickfield and Rhydymwyn, who beat Mold Alex and Penyffordd respectively.

Harry Gregory, Harry Wheeler and Liam Davies did the damage for Brickfield. Connor Hopwood replied for Mold.

Mason Lowery (2) and Ryan Sharp handed Rhydymwyn the points at Penyffordd, who saw Ryan Hughes score their consolation.
