HAWARDEN PARK SECONDS needed just 30.5 overs to sweep aside hosts Carmel and District Seconds by nine wickets in Division Three.

The 10-man hosts were in trouble from the minute they lost the toss and were invited to bat first, skittled for 26 as Jamie Leek (4-10), Nick Wood (2-2) and Ahmed Javed (2-6) caused havoc.

Hawarden cruised to 27 for one inside eight overs to wrap up a convincing away success.

At the other end of the scale, Gwersyllt Park Seconds secured a five-wicket win at Mold Seconds with just an over to spare.

Lewis Pringle (43) and Ewan Hill (41) were the main run scorers as Mold posted 209 for seven, Stephen Conner and Ben Griffiths taking three wickets apiece.

Daniel Jones (49) and Ryan Collier (32) got Quay’s reply off to a solid start, and once they departed Connor picked up the reins to hit an unbeaten 67, including six fours and six sixes, to see his side across the line.

Halkyn continued their Division Two promotion challenge with an impressive 98-run home win over Brymbo Seconds.

Tom Emmerson pocketed 5-27, but Halkyn managed to get themselves to 180, Marcello Carrino top scoring with 49.

Anthony Grubb then followed Emmerson’s lead, picking up 5-38, to bowl Brymbo out for just 82, Ross Roberts hitting 23.

Buckley remain in second, a place and eight points better off than Halkyn, after beating nine-man Llay Welfare Seconds by 10 wickets.

Joe Howell was the star of Llay’s 76, the opener hitting 54 of his side’s runs as Will Norman and Lee Taylor picked up three wickets apiece.

Rocco Franco (32 not out) and Gary Mayers (22no) then saw Buckley to victory inside 13 overs of their reply.

Mynydd Isa and Maeshafn were also victorious, beating Gresford Seconds by 68 runs.

Captain Chris Geary struck 95 of Isa’s 227 for eight, Carl Jutson adding 41 as Sam Cooper finished with 3-25.

George Morris gave the run chase his best shot as he struck 76, but with only Matt Daulby (33) really troubling the scorers once he departed, Gresford were bowled out for 159.

Ryan Wynne led the way with 3-29 as Matty Blunden, David Brilley and Jordan Baxter all claimed two victims.

Marchwiel and Wrexham produced a fine performance to defeat Northop Seconds by six wickets.

Ryan Williams (4-38) and Sion Edwards (3-31) combined as Northop were bowled out for 153, Leo Greig showing his class with 55.

But that total was not enough as Michael Forgrave (53) and Gareth Evans (49) were in the runs for victorious Marchwiel.

Marchwiel and Wrexham Seconds leapfrogged Halkyn Seconds in Division Four after beating their fellow strugglers by seven wickets.

Ted Probin (3-7), Oliver Heard-Edwards (2-14) and Paul Baines (2-18) were the pick of the Marchwiel attack as Halkyn were bowled out for 65, Anthony Green top scoring with 18.

Ryan Matthews then bagged 3-3 from four overs, but Marchwiel were able to secure victory with Matthew Lewis (27) and Matt Salisbury (25) impressing.

Llangollen needed just 19.4 overs to record a 10-wicket win at nine-man Rhewl, who were skittled for 26 courtesy of four wickets apiece from Richard Hughes and Geraint Wyn Jones.

Elsewhere, Dolgellau Seconds (223-7) were comfortable 79-run winners over Llanrwst Seconds (144-9) and Llandudno Seconds (184) beat Ruthin Seconds (182-7) by two runs.
