JOSH ANDRADY’S rise to prominence has continued after he played his way on to Glamorgan Academy’s pre-season tour of India.

The 17-year-old Wales age group international, who plays his club cricket for Liverpool Competition outfit Northop Hall, has joined other talented potential future stars on the trip to Mumbai.

Mold-based Andrady, pictured, named Welsh U17 player of the year, continued his development under the guidance of Glamorgan’s coaching staff on the 10-day tour.

Gareth Owen, who is Andrady’s cricket academy director at Ellesmere College, said: “Josh is an extremely talented cricketer and we’re delighted he got the opportunity to go on this tour abroad. He has turned in some very good performances for Wales, including 113 and 78 against Nottinghamshire and 64 against Staffordshire in a one-day game.

“He continues to catch the eye of the Welsh selectors to represent his country and attends the National Development Centre.

“The tour was a wonderful opportunity, which involved an intensive cricket programme and a chance to soak up the atmosphere and rich Indian culture.

“The trip is educational and an excellent learning experience which will stand the youngsters in good stead in the future.

“He combines his commitment to Glamorgan Cricket Academy with his studies and practice at our academy here at Ellesmere College.

“He is guided through the technical and tactical aspects of his cricket development and receives a personal coaching and development programme.”
