WILL OWEN will make the step up to Chester Boughton Hall's 'lead coach' for 2019.
The influential all-rounder, who played a key role in Hall's 2017 double winning side, before captaining the team to the Cheshire County Premier League runners-up spot last year.
But the former Glamorgan man's body is now telling him it is time to turn his attentions to coaching the Hall first team, set to be led by Rick Moore.
"I'm really looking forward to my new coaching role," said Owen. "I've thoroughly enjoyed my four years playing at Chester but I can't deny the wear and tear on my body is beginning to tell.
"Helping players improve - particularly the youngsters - and working with Rick Moore to get the best out of everyone is a natural progression and I hope my experience from many years as a pro and playing at Chester can be of benefit."
