AKWASI ASANTE came back to haunt Chester as he struck late on to secure a 2-1 win for Gloucester City.
The striker, who made a move to Gloucester ahead of the Blues' 2019/20 National League North play-off campaign, bagged the winner two minutes from time.
Asante struck just 120 seconds after Anthony Dudley levelled for Chester, who looked set to earn a hard-fought point at the league leaders.
Liam Daly had broken the deadlock for Gloucester just prior to the hour mark, before a dramatic finish to proceedings.
